A Bit About Me

Hi, my name is Nicola and I am a freelance translator with 10 years of experience in the localisation industry.

I am originally from England but I also lived in France for over 25 years, so I am fully bilingual.

I have also lived in Holland, Ireland, Italy and the Czech Republic, where I tried to learn the languages. Yes, that included Gaelic too, which was by far one of the hardest and most interesting languages I have ever spoken. Dia Dhuit!
I have a Master’s degree in translation, specialising in English, French and Spanish.

Over the years, I have translated a vast range of subject matters from booklets on solar power to legal documents and even market surveys for food companies. However, I have come to appreciate the creativity and the storytelling that marketing and video game scripts have to offer.

I thoroughly enjoy travelling, baking and learning all about the cultures that surround me. In fact, I love it so much that my husband and I are currently travelling the world in our self-converted van. But, fear not, we have high speed internet on the road and a comfortable space to work in. We travel slowly, and take the time to appreciate what the world has to offer.
